What does the flower display at the front of the sanctuary pulpit mean during Lent?
In the spirit and legacy of Marni Schultz, Rob and the Worship Committee are continuing the Lenten practice she started. It begins with a pile of rocks in front of the pulpit. Gradually through the season of Lent, Rob will add elements like sticks and buds, pussy willows, and forsythia. Finally, on Easter day, the stone structure will be transformed into a beautiful display of blossoming flowers, signifying the joy and renewal of the Easter celebration.
This progression from dry stones to vibrant life mirrors our journey through Lent of repentance and renewal culminating in the stones of death rolling away to reveal the glory of resurrected life through Christ.
