Teaching and Nurturing Our Members

Recognizing the importance of nourishing one’s spirit, UCC/VF, through the Christian Education committee,  provides a variety of ongoing opportunities in Christian education and service ministry projects for all ages.  The committee’s goal is to provide an environment that encourages Biblical education, thoughtful introspection and spiritual growth.

The Committee works with Pastor Michael in coordinating the weekly Bible studies and with the yearly Confirmation classes.  The Sunday School program has a committed group of adults, trained and dedicated to the education of our children and youth.  The committee coordinates curriculum and teachers for our Church School program for children Pre-K through 4th grade, as well as our Middle School and Senior High School Sunday Morning Breakfast Club (SMBC) Sunday school programs.  Opportunities for our youth, in service to our church, local night shelters, food banks and summer mission trips are also valued as important opportunities for Christian education.

For more information regarding youth and adult Christian education at UCC/VF, see our Spiritual Life page.

Also, please visit our Media Center. It is located adjacent to the Gathering Area at the main entrance. It is a well-stocked, valuable media resource, with books and media materials for all ages.  Everyone is welcome to come browse and utilize the “self-service” check out system.

Reaching Out to Those in Need

Mission to others is an integral part of the United Church of Christ at Valley Forge.  We are a “5 for 5” church – supporting all five of the UCC denomination-wide offerings:  One Great Hour of Sharing, Strengthen the Church, Neighbors in Need, The Christmas Fund and Our Church’s Wider Mission (OCWM).

But mission is more than the giving of money; it is also the giving of our time and talent. Youth and adults of UCC/VF travel near and far to help others.

Come join us! To view current fellowship & outreach opportunities , see the News & Events page or read the current Forge newsletter.

Here are some opportunities that are either ongoing or recently offered:

  • The Other Carpenter
  • Shelter Night
  • Mission Trips
  • Hope Outreach
  • Giving Tree
  • Old First Soup Kitchen

Caring for Our Church Family

The foundation of the UCC/VF church family is set in God’s love for us, our love for one another and our ability to share love with our community and our world. We are an Open and Affirming church, a diverse group of people of all ages and walks of life, eager to share our blessings and our faith.

One way that we look out for each other and support each other is by welcoming each member of the congregation to a flock. A flock meets a few times every year and has an elder assigned to it.
